Our Programs

Vita is the lead literacy agency in Bucks County and the largest provider of educational services in the Bucks County Correctional Facility. Vita’s quality educational programs help individuals gain skills that enhance their ability to deal with real-life situations, meet personal goals and become more self-determining and self-sufficient.

Literacy Programs
Vita offers free instruction to prepare adults to function effectively in their roles as family members, employees and citizens.

Literacy in the Workplace
Experts estimate that low literacy costs the American economy $225 billion a year in lost productivity. Improved workplace literacy can increase employees’ efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity on the job.

DECISIONS is a suite of programs offered in the community, in correctional facilities, and in the workplace.  These copyrighted programs include Decisions for Living, Decisions for Teens and Decisions in the Workplace.

Decisions for Living
Vita serves inmates through our unique copyrighted curriculum, Decisions for Living, that helps individuals make sound decisions using a logical five-step process and helps prepare them for reentry into the community.

Decisions for Teens
Teens are faced with having to make decisions on a daily basis, the results of which can have life-altering consequences. Decisions for Teens is a cognitively-based curriculum that teaches a process for making sound choices in real life situations.

Decisions in the Workplace
Vita contracts with businesses to provide staff training using Vita’s DECISIONS model. This process helps individuals make sound choices using a logical five-step process. In addition to identifying the external facts of a situation, participants learn to identify other variables that influence decision making: feelings, thoughts, attitudes, self-images, habits, values and past experiences.
