Tutor Training Schedule

English as a Second Language
English as a Second Language (ESL) tutors work with adults for whom English is not a first language; these are individuals who want to improve conversation, reading and writing of English.  This training is for tutors to work with small groups in Doylestown in the evening, with some daytime opportunities.  Knowledge of a foreign language is not necessary.  A donation of $35 is requested.

Doylestown ESL Training:

8 East Court St., Doylestown  (2nd floor, no elevator)
12-hours course:  Tuesdays
August 10, 17, 24 and 31
6:00 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. (Must be able to attend all sessions)

Basic Literacy
Literacy tutors work with adults who want to improve reading, writing and math skills or prepare for GED classes.  Tutors may choose to work with small groups in the community; or with individuals with limited literacy skills or with inmates at the Bucks County Correctional Facilities.  A donation of $35 is requested.

Lower Bucks Literacy Training:

Personal Decision Making Training
Personal Decision Making (PDM) tutors work with clients in the Bucks County Correctional Facilities, teaching a process that emphasizes self-awareness, personal responsibility, critical thinking, and goal setting PDM provides clients with tools to help them reintegrate more effectively into the community upon release.
